Vegalta Sendai – Cerezo Osaka:
Vegalta are dead last with just 1 point from 4 matches so far and they are already sailing up as a big favorite for relegation. They’ve met good teams though and except for perhaps Shonan away last round I expected them to lose all the matches.
Cerezo Osaka are also in a slump as they have 3 straight defeats now after their opening 1-0 win vs Vissel Kobe in R1. They’ve looked really poor in attack and have struggled with creating chances and it’s obvious the players haven’t adapted yet to the manager’s tactics.
Vegalta have made lots of changes ahead of this match, and their midfield in particular looks completely revamped but I’m not sure that’s a good thing. Cerezo got a good record away vs Vegalta in recent years and I think they got a good chance of turning their bad form around here although it’s a fairly open match.
Expected Starting Lineup Vegalta:
13Hiraoka – 27Oiwa (I) – 39Kim
14Ishihara – 6Hyodo – 17Tomita – 18Michibuchi*
9RamonLopes – 38Nagasawa – 15Yoshio*
DF Iio (S/R)
MF Tsuihashi (R)
FW Ishihara (I)
Cerezo Expected Starting Lineup:
3Kimoto –22Jonjic –16Katayama*
2Matsuda – 11Souza – 25Okuno – 14Maruhashi
8Kakitani(I) – 10Kiyotake(K)
Prediction: 0-1 or 1-2
Cerezo have been made bigger favorites than I expected here and there’s actually some value on Vegalta 1×2 @ 3,12 (10 units). There’s also some value on Under 2,5 @ 1,82 (10 units).
