ACL 2019 MD3 – Wednesday’s Previews

Kawasaki Frontale – Sydney FC:

Australian teams usually struggles a lot on the road, and I don’t see why this match will be any different and I expect an easy win for the home team. Kawasaki haven’t really gotten their season going yet with 3 straight draws in the league and a narrow loss vs Shanghai SIPG in their opening ACL-game. But they are playing fairly well and it’s just a matter of time before the wins start coming.

They are taking ACL seriously it seems if their team vs Shanghai is anything to judge by,  and I expect to see a similar strong lineup here.

Prediction: 2-1 or 3-1

Odds Info:

Kawasaki are currently -1,25 which is too high, but I don’t fancy taking Sydney either so I will skip any bets here. The Totals seems more or less correct.

Ulsan Hyundai – Shanghai SIPG:

Tricky match that can go either way but Korean teams usually do well at home vs Chinese teams. However, last season Shanghai won 1-0 away vs Ulsan so they might have a psychological advantage here.

Prediction: 1-1 or 2-1

Odds Info:

The odds on both the Totals and HCP seems more or less correct and considering how open this match is I will skip any bets here.

Buriram United – Jeonbuk Motors:

Buriram lost 0-3 away vs Urawa in their opening match, and they seem to be weaker this year than in previous seasons.  Still, they shouldn’t be considered a push-over as they have been proven they can punch above their weight before.

Jeonbuk looked strong in their opening match, but usually struggle a lot more away. They only 2 wins on their last 9 away matches in ACL, so I’m not ruling Buriram causing an upset here like last year when they won 3-2.

Prediction: 2-1 or 1-2

Odds Info:

Buriram are currently +1 which is crazy, but I rather take them 1×2 @ 5,06 (10 units).  The totals also seems a bit too high, so I also find some value on the Under 2,75 @ 1,83 (10 units) although it might be a bit risky.

Beijing Guoan – Urawa Reds:

This will be the first home-game in ACL since 2015 for Beijing. They looked poor in their opening round away vs Jeonbuk and was easily beaten. Urawa on the other hand won 3-0 vs Buriram and they followed up with a narrow 1-0 win vs Vegalta in the league.

It looks like Urawa have sent their strongest team to China and they should normally be a much better side than Beijing so I think they got decent chances of getting away with a point (or three) despite having played 6 away-matches in a row in ACL without a win.

Prediction: 1-1 or 1-2

Odds Info:

Beijing have somehow been made big favorites here, and I find great value in Urawa +0,5 @ 1,79 (20 units) and Urawa 1×2 @ 3,54 (20 units).
