Shandong Luneng – Kashima Antlers:
Kashima are sending their best possible squad to China for this match and they won’t be making too many changes from their usual lineup. They got some injury problems but they can still field a very strong squad for this match.
I don’t rate Shandong that high and think Kashima should be considered favorites here despite playing away. Shandong doesnt have much ACL-experience and they only got 1 single win on their last 10 (non-qualifiers) ACL-matches and I think they’ll come up short here vs the reigning champions.
Prediction: 1-2 or 2-2
There’s decent value on Kashima DNB @ 1,92 (20 units) as I doubt they will lose here, and I also fancy Over 2,5 @ 1,79 (10 units).
Sanfrecce Hiroshima – Melbourne Victory:
Hiroshima fielded a B-squad in their previous ACL-match, and we’ll see a weakened lineup from them here too. They will field a better squad than the one they sent to China though, and 1st team regulars like Patric, Kawabe, Notsuda, Shimizu, Mizumoto and Nogami are all expected to start.
Melbourne Victory have spent a couple of days in Japan already preparing for this match, and they need to to a lot better than in the 1st match vs Daegu if they are to have any chance. They have never won on the road in Asia – on 16 attempts (!), but Hiroshima is a probably an opponent that fits them a lot better than Daegu so their chances of a win should be relatively high especially considering Hiroshima not prioritizing this tournament. But given their history in ACL, the home-side should still be considered favorites.
Prediction: 2-1 or 1-1
Hiroshima are currently -0,75 favorites which is insane, and there’s actually been a move on them as well here. Despite Victory’s poor away-form in Asia I want to back them with +0,5 @ 2,07 (20 units) and 1×2 @ 4,04 (10 units). I also think we’ll see a fairly open game and Over 2,25 @ 1,89 (20 units) also looks interesting.
Daegu FC – Guangzhou Evergrande:
Daegu impressed a lot in R1 with the strong win in Australia, and I think they can build on that win here and get another result. This match is reportedly sold out which should be an added benefit to the home-team.
Evergrande are not that good away in ACL, and they’ve only won 3 out of their last 14 matches in Asia on the road.
Prediction: 1-1 or 2-1
Evergrande have been made favorites here which I don’t agree on, and Daegu +0,5 @ 1,75 (20 units) and Daegu 1×2 @ 3,47 (10 units) are both very interesting.
Johor Darul – Gyeongnam FC:
Johor put in a good fight away vs Kashima and only lost 1-2 last round but I don’t expect them to take many points in this year’s group-stage – if any at all.
Gyeongnam had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home vs Shandong but played a decent match and anything but a win for them here will be a big surprise.
Prediction: 1-3 or 1-4
Gyeongman -0,75 @ 2,00 (30 units) and Over 2,75 @ 2,00 (20 units) are my bets here as I expect the visitors to win relatively comfortably.
