J.League 1 R3 – Gamba vs Nagoya Preview

Gamba Osaka – Nagoya Grampus:

Gamba have varied a lot in their performances so far as they went from horrible at home vs Marinos  to very impressive in the away-match vs Shimizu only to lose 0-1 away vs Iwata’s b-squad in the cup midweek. Gamba also fielded a weakened squad, but there were several first-team regulars in their lineup so it was surprising to see them lose.

Nagoya are off to a perfect start so far with 2 clear wins, 6 goals scored and 0 conceded. They looked very strong in both their matches, but that was also the case in the beginning of last season.  After winning their first 2 matches back then they went on to on a 16-match winless streak.  They seem stronger this year though, and on their day they can probably beat any team in the league.

They got a good grip on Gamba in recent years, and away they got 3-2-1 on the last 6 in all competitions.  I think Nagoya will try to play their own game here like Marinos did, and will put Gamba under pressure so we should be in for an entertaining match.  I expect goals and plenty of chances at both ends.

Odds Info:

This match can go either way and the HCP-price looks more or less correct. Much more interesting is the Totals, and Over 3 @ 2,10 (30 units) holds great value.
