J1 R2 – Marinos vs Vegalta Preview

Yokohama F Marinos – Vegalta Sendai:

Marinos put in a fantastic performance vs Gamba in their opening match and were deserved winners in the end. It was a tactical win by Postecoglou and they will hope to build on that here. Vegalta can also be fairly happy with their season-opener as  they managed a 0-0 draw at home vs Urawa.

Last year Marinos won both league-games 5-2 at home and 8-2 away (!) so this match promises a lot of goals. In fact, the 2 teams met 5 times last year if we included all cup-games, and only 1 of those 5 matches had less than 5 goals.

There’s no reason to not think we’ll see goals this time as well. Based on the first game Marinos look even stronger going forward than they were last year, but there will be lots of opportunities for Vegalta on the break too so there should be lots of chances at both ends.

Prediction: 3-1 or 3-2

Odds Info:

I expect goals here so the Over 3 @ 2,11 (30 units) looks like a great bet. For the HCP Marinos have been made too big favorites imho, but I don’t see any point in taking Vegalta.
