J1 R2 – Kawasaki vs Kashima Preview

Kawasaki Frontale – Kashima Antlers:

Kawasaki could only manage a 0-0 draw vs Tokyo at home in their season-opener which was a bit disappointing and in fact Tokyo were probably closer to a win that they were.  Kashima was even more disappointing as they lost 1-2 (deservedly) at home vs newly promoted Oita in what was a lacklustre performance from them.   They got some injury problems here with 3 regular starters expected to be missing, while Kawasaki can field close to a full-strength squad.

Kawasaki got the upper hand in recent meetings, and Kashima have only won 1 out of the last 6 matches between them in the league. It’s still only 2 matches into the new season and difficult to say how far the teams have come in their preparations but I expect Kawasaki to be controlling most of the match here and think they will end up with all 3 points. I think there is a decent chance we’ll see goals too, maybe at both ends.

Prediction: 2-1 or 3-1
Odds Info:

I got a pref on over here, and Over 2,25 @ 1,79 (20 units) looks like a good bet. Also got a small value on Kawasaki -0,25, but not enough for any pre-game bets but will consider live.
