J1 R1 – Cerezo vs Kobe Preview

Cerezo Osaka – Vissel Kobe:

Neither Cerezo or Kobe have the best results to show from in the friendly matches leading up to this season-opener, with Cerezo losing against both Marinos and J2-side Renofa Yamaguchi over the last few weeks and Kobe losing 1-4 against Los Angeles FC at the start of this month.  But how a team performs in friendlies doesn’t necessarily always have an impact on how they do in the league, so we shouldn’t read too much into those results.

Both teams got a new manager, and it will interesting to follow these teams as they both got a huge potential with lots of quality players.  Despite the big names at Kobe, I rate Cerezo as a slightly better team and have them as a small favorite, especially considering the home-advantage.  With it being a season opener it’s a difficult match to predict though, and both teams might be very cautious in the beginning here.

Cerezo Expected Starting Lineup:

Prediction: 2-1 or 1-1

Odds Info:
At the time of writing the odds on both the HCP and the Total seems spot-on, so at this point I don’t see any recommended bets to take.

Edit: The odds have moved on Kobe, so Cerezo DNB @ 1,94 (10 units) looks like a decent bet to me.
