J.League 1 R8 – Urawa vs Shimizu Preview

Urawa Reds – Shimizu S-Pulse:

Urawa are back on track with 2 straight wins and it seems the change of manager have had a good effect so far. They are still not playing up to their full potential but confidence is back in the team and I expect them to continue to do well here. They are rotating a lot and also experimenting with different formations but the core players remains the same.

Shimizu are off the pace now with only 0-2-2 on their last 4 matches and they are struggling to score goals. They looked good on counter-attacks early on in the season but that haven’t really worked for them lately.  They might do better here against a Urawa-side who likes to play with a high back-line but I still doubt they will get away with anything.

Urawa got 6-2-0 vs Shimizu on the last 8 meetings between them, and I find no reason why that run is not going to continue here as well. There’s some slight value in the -0,75 line for me.
