J.League 1 R8 – Marinos vs Kobe Preview

Yokohama F Marinos – Vissel Kobe:

Marinos conceded 2 late goals to suffer a lat defeat against  1st placed Hiroshima away last round but have done reasonably well overall lately and looks improved.  They are still not scoring too many goals but are creating a fair amount of chances and it’s mainly down to the inefficiency of their star striker Hugo Oliveira that they haven’t done better.

Kobe only got 2 wins to their name so far which is disappointing, and the constant rotation of their starting members can’t help with the confidence of the players.  Especially the defence have seen a lot of changes from one match to another. Perhaps that’s why they have one of the poorest defensive records in the league so far, as the players doesn’t get enough time or chances to get used to play alongside eachother. If it’s a part of the manager Yoshida’s plan I don’t know, but it’s definitely not working so far.

This match seems fairly evenly contested, and I think it can go both ways.  It’s 2 teams that are struggling and I don’t think there will be much between them in the end. Marinos should avoid defeat as they are playing at home, but odds seems spot on both on HCP and Totals so no bet for me.
