J.League 1 R5 – Iwata vs Urawa Preview

Jubilo Iwata – Urawa Reds:

Big blow for Iwata as their arguably best player Adailton is out for what could be the rest of the season with a serious injury. In addition, veteran playmaker Shunsuke Nakamura is also sidelined so almost all their creativity is gone.  That means a lot of responsibility lies on Yamada now, who will come in and replace Nakamura. He’s definitely a talented footballer but hasn’t really been living up to expectations lately.

Urawa are somehow yet to win a match this year despite having met relatively easy opponents in all their 4 matches. Pressure is building on manager Hori, and a poor result here could easily see him sacked. It is hard to judge form the outside, but it seems the players are not really sold on Hori’s football philosophy and the team is not working together as one.

They still got the most talented squad in the league though and it is only a matter of time before their first win come.  We’ll most likely see a change in formation here from Urawa, and that could be what will steer them back onto the right track. The DNB on them is definitely worth a shot.
