J.League 1 Season Preview 2018 – FC Tokyo

FC TOKYO

A horrible, horrible season for FC Tokyo last year, who were closer to being relegated than fighting for an ACL-finish, and they had ambitions of winning the title. They have spent a lot of money the last couple of seasons, but it doesn’t seem to be much of a plan to it. They have shipped out 2 expensive strikers in Okubo and Utaka since last season, and the new palyer to lead their attack will be Diego Oliveira. He never really got going at Reysol, but is a striker with a lot of potential and if used correctly he could be lethal.

Other than that they look more or less the same, but they got a new manager in Hasegawa, who they brought from Gamba. Should be an upgrade compared to last year’s manager , but I don’t expect any miracles.
