Nagoya Grampus – Jubilo Iwata:
Nagoya started off where they left in 2017, with exciting and attractive attacking football as well as horrible defending. Nagoya could easily be the most entertaining team in the league this season if that continues. They won 3-2 away vs Gamba, and it was overall a very solid performance by them. They got one of the best players in the league in Xavier, and Jo got off to a great start as well with 1 goal and 1 assist.
Iwata lost 0-3 at home vs Kawasaki in their season opener, but didn’t play as bad as the result suggests. Still, they need to improve from that if they are to have any chances at points here.
This could easily be another goal-fest, and I expect to see lots of chances at both ends. Nagoya should be the favorites though, and all 3 points should end up with them.
