A-League Semifinals Betting Previews & Injury Updates

Adelaide United – Melbourne City:

Adelaide United missing:
FW Babalj (S/R)

Melbourne City missing:
DF Zullo (R)
DF Franjic )R)

MF Novillo (R/I)
FW Gameiro (S/R)
FW Dekker (S/R)

These 2 teams also met 2 weeks ago in the final match of the regular season, with Adelaide picking up a 2-0 away win.

Adelaide are in general very good form, with 3 straight wins and 7-1-1 in their last 9 matches. They can field a full-strength squad here, which should be an advantage as M City got some problems particularly in defence.  M City are not a good away team either, and only got 1-1-5 on their last 7 away-matches.

The home-teams usually have a big advantage in these semifinals as well, and in each of the last 3 seasons both semifinals ended with a home-win.   Can’t do anything but have a big pref on Adelaide here then, and with M City’s defensive injuries it could be goals as well in this one.

Prediction 2-0 or 3-1

My odds:  -0,75 @ 2,02 / Over 2,5 @  1,82
Market Price: -0,5 @ 2,01 / Over 2,75 @ 1,90

Adelaide -0,5 @ 2,01 (5 units)

Western Sydney Wanderers – Brisbane Roar:

Western Sydney missing:

Brisbane Roar missing:

The scenario is the same here as in the other semifinal, with the home-team having a big advantage which is easily seen in previous semifinals.

This one seems a bit more evenly contested though, mainly because Brisbane are in great form with 5-1-1 on their last 7 matches, and W Sydney have troubled a bit over the last few weeks with 4-2-2 on their last 8.

Brisbane are not a good away-team though, with just 1 win in their last 7 away-matches, so it should still a be a small pref on home here. Also this one got potential for goals with 2 teams that have been fairly over lately ( especially Brisbane), but with more at stake the semifinals tend to be more under.

Prediction: 2-1 or 1-1

My odds: -0,25 @  1,89 / Over 2,5 @  1,99
Market Price: -0,5 @ 1,96 / Over 2,75 @ 1,96
