A-League Play-offs Betting Previews & Injury Updates

Brisbane Roar – Melbourne Victory:

Brisbane Roar missing:

Melbourne Victory missing:
DF Murnane (S/R)
DF Deng (S/R)
MF Mahazi (R)
FW Pain (S/R)

These 2 teams met last weekend as well, but that was a meaningless match for M Victory, and we will have a very different scenario here.  Brisbane were not happy that they threw away their chance of a top 2 finish, and will now have to take the long route to the Championship Finals. Their form is good with 4-1-1 on their last 6, and they have the best home-record this season with 11-2-1 overall.

M Victory are unbeaten in their last 6 matches in all competitions, and have looked particularly impressive in ACL.  Not the best away-team, and have overall only 4-3-7 away this season.

Despite the team’s league positions I still rate M Victory as the slightly better team, but Brisbane’s home-advantage should not be underestimated. M Victory has the better head-to-head record as well of lately, with 4-1-1 in M Victory’s favour on the last 6 competitive meetings, and these play-off matches tend to sometimes live their own life. Therefore it’s a tricky game to predict, but have a slight pref on home as well as under’s.

Prediction: 2-0 or 1-1

My odds: DNB @ 1,88 / Over 2,5 @ 2,09
Market Price: -0,25 @ 1,86 / Over 2,75 @ 1,91

Under 2,75 @ 2,00 (5 units)

Melbourne City – Perth Glory:

Melbourne City missing:
DF Zullo (R)
MF Novillo (R/I)
FW Gameiro (S/R)
FW Dekker (S/R)

Perth Glory missing:
MF Zadkovich (R)

M City lost their final 2 matches in the league and therefore lost out on a top 2 finish. One of those losses were away against Perth, and before that they had 4 straight wins.

Perth had 5 straight wins prior to the 0-4 loss vs Sydney last round. The only difference that loss made was that they will have to meet M City away instead of home here.

Perth has been the form-team no.1 in the league the last couple of months, and have looked very impressive away as well winning 5 out of their last 7 away-matches. M City got 8-2-1 on their last 11 home-matches though, with the only loss coming in their final home-game vs Adelaide.  Open game in other words, but I do have a pref on the home-side.Usually it is the home-team that wins these meetings, and M City fot 4-2-0 on their last 6 home-matches vs Perth. Also think we can see some goals in this one.

Prediction: 2-1 or 3-1

My odds: -0,25 @  1,93 / Over 2,75 @ 1,82
Market Price: -0,5 @ 1,99 / Over 3,25 @ 2,02
